A columnar or frame structure is familiar from the traditional construction of most American low-rise structures. From there, its other name was also transferred – “two by four”. The basic element of the structure were prisms with a uniform cross-section – 2 × 4 feet (5 × 10 cm).
The principle of frames is also the basis for the constructions of the panels that we design and manufacture for our customers.
The panels allow the use of diffusion-open and diffusion-closed structures and we produce them in various stages of completion in our production center in Liptovský Mikuláš.
This system is probably the most widespread and most economical construction system of wooden buildings not only in our country. The basis of the prefabricated panels is a wooden frame with one-sided or double-sided cladding and filling. Although the essence of this construction is to use the possibilities of prefabrication, it also allows for great variability of the structural solution and thus significantly affects the price of the building. At the same time, prefabrication significantly reduces the impact of bad weather on the final quality of the structure – it speeds up the construction itself and allows critical processes to be carried out in the production hall.

Our technical director Ing. Juraj Pečeňanský is a certified designer of energy-passive houses. We assess each prefabricated house in terms of building heating technology, building acoustics and radon protection. We strictly ensure that all fire safety principles are complied with in the proposal.
Our company is the holder of the quality mark, which is awarded by a commission appointed by the Association of Wood Processors of the Slovak Republic with an independent professional guarantee of the Technical University in Zvolen.
With the quality mark, we prove to our customers that in the process of design, preparation and implementation of prefabricated buildings, we follow all standard procedures and implement works in comprehensive quality.
In agreement with the builder, we perform Blower door tests, which prove the required airtightness of the packaging structures of buildings, and which tell a lot about the quality of implementation.
The test results are usually in the range of n50=0.30 - 0.40 /h, which significantly exceeds the required value of n50= 1.0/h for low-energy buildings, or n50= 0.6/h for buildings built in a passive standard.

We will adapt the scope of delivery to the customer’s requirements – we can only supply the structure, build a rough structure, a holodom or a turnkey house.
We are a partner of our customers and we do not want to limit them in any way. According to their needs, we will design and manufacture the entire house, or just its structural parts. For example, trusses, walls, walls with thermal insulation, ceilings. If the customer is interested in assembling these structural parts himself or by an entity designated by him, we will supply the assembly documentation.
We design, manufacture and assemble custom-made houses. We do not create hundreds of “catalog” solutions, even though it is very tempting from the point of view of corporate economics. We strive to design houses for our customers “without compromise”. Building a family house is a lifetime investment for most builders and deserves a special approach.
The land for the construction of the house, the location itself, wider relationships, orientation to the cardinal points, the builder’s family, their needs and way of life are unique in combination. The architect’s individual approach will allow you to generate a project that is optimal in its solution and respects all requirements. What is important, the optimal size often saves the builder considerable funds.
Of course, we also offer comprehensive turnkey deliveries of houses. Very often, the customer is interested in the rough construction (load-bearing structure of the house) together with the construction of the roof, including the roofing, and the other structures are already finalized at his own expense.
Every square meter of usable area of your planned house costs a lot of money. With compromise catalogue solutions, the builder can spend thousands of euros unnecessarily. It is almost certainly always significantly more than an individual project solution from an experienced architect costs. We appreciate patience in communication or waiting for a building permit, but also professionalism and adherence to deadlines even in difficult conditions of dry winter weather. Little things such as maintaining order on the construction site and its surroundings will certainly please.
Whatever problems arose, they were solved promptly and constructively, with the passage of time we do not remember anything that could be criticized. The biggest defect was probably a mistake in the design of some dimensions, which made it impossible for us to have undeclared upper frames of the blinds – but we also turned this to our advantage and the change does not bother us – the boxes fit nicely with the house.
In addition, they left us a bunch of long nails (2 kinds), which they then didn’t want back – I guess we’ll use them up for something over time. The construction manager was very accommodating and even later, after the construction was completed, willing to advise and help us solve the small changes we needed. It will be almost 10 years since we decided to exchange a block of flats for a family house.
We are professionally close to wood, which is why our thoughts were directed towards a house with some type of wooden structure.
We approached our friend, Ivan Kolárik, with a request for advice.
In the debate, we moved from a wooden house to a sandwich structure, and in the end, close cooperation emerged

I decided to choose Kontrakting as a supplier of the rough construction of our wooden house after a thorough examination of the market of companies dealing with wooden houses.
I had in my hands a study of the house to my liking and I knew that I wanted a diffusion-open system. This significantly narrowed down my choice and under the given conditions, Kontrakting was an obvious choice – from the first conversations, I had the feeling that I was talking to experts in the field with a serious approach to me as a customer.
It is a stable company with many years of experience and a strong design team, willing to fully adapt to the investor’s ideas, and this is still not a matter of course in Slovakia. Until then, I had mainly encountered companies based on one person and the offer of several catalog houses.
I was also satisfied with the assembly of our house itself – everything went according to the set schedule of work with acceptance protocols after each phase of construction. There were also complications, as probably on every construction site, but these were solved to my complete satisfaction. The installers proceeded exactly according to the production and assembly documentation, so I had no reservations about the implementation or the materials supplied when handing over the finished shell construction. The quality of the work performed was also reflected in the airtightness test, which I later had done by another contractor.
