This newly opened “cycling miracle around the Tatras” begins in Nowy Targ (in Nowy Targ) and ends in Trstená. It was built on the route of the old railway from Austria-Hungary (built in 1899 – 1902) and connected Galicia and Upper Hungary. It was a link to the Košice-Bohumín railway under construction.

The route of the road offers beautiful, wide panoramas, especially of the very well visible Tatras. Near the village of Liesek (Liesek Háje) there is a viewpoint with a view map, on which the Tatra Mountains are marked with names. At the rest area, the route of the road connects with the Orava Cycle Route, marked with red signs; when we turn left and go southeast, we arrive via Vitanová to Oravice (15.5 km) and further to Zuberec (25 km). The road around the Tatras bypasses the village of Liesek and continues towards Trstená. Before the town itself, we have to pass under the viaduct and continue over the bridge over Oravica, the route continues along the left bank of the river to the intersection with road No. 59 to Chyžné. This is where the road around the Tatras ends, we can walk to the city center (450 m) along Bernolákova Street. At the end of the asphalt cycle route, we can re-enter the Orava Cycle Route, which will take us to the Orava Dam and to Námestovo (12.5 km), here we have to turn right and cross the bridge over Oravice.
