The Liptov region has long been a sought-after location for the construction of recreational or family houses, especially thanks to the beauty of nature in its surroundings. An almost passive prefabricated family house is located in Liptovsk\u00e1 \u0160tiavnica in the district of Ru\u017eomberok on a slightly sloping meadow. The shape adapts to traditional rural forms with a saddle roof, but in a modern sense. It offers a mezzanine floor and scenic views of every cardinal point. How was it created and what does its final form look like? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Unique layout of the house<\/p>\n\n

The layout of this family house is adapted to the land, the views of all the cardinal points it offers and, of course, the individual needs of a family of 4. The building has a relatively simple rectangular floor plan with a pop-up wall at the entrance. This is used to cover the roof and provide year-round protection against rain. Another pop-up wall on the south corner serves to protect against overheating in the summer months. <\/p>\n\n

The roof of the house is gable, with a slope of 43\u00b0, covered with aluminum folded sheet. On the south side, the roof is slightly raised above the terrace. To the southeast and northwest, there is a dormer (an architecturally modified opening in the roof of the building) to gain sunlight and also to overlook the mountains. The fa\u00e7ade of the building is lined with wooden cladding made of Siberian larch, plastered in some parts, not in others. <\/p>\n\n

From the northeast side of the house there is the main entrance to the building, clearly visible from the road. The ground floor, which is on the northwest side of the house, consists of an entrance and a study. On the northeast side there is a bedroom, a bathroom and a utility room. On the mezzanine, facing south, there is a living kitchen with a pantry, a dining room and a living room with access to the terrace and then to the garden. The space looks spectacular, especially thanks to the open view up to the truss of the house. Through the large windows in the gable there is a view of the sloping garden and hills. In the attic, half a floor higher than the living room, there are two children’s rooms, a bathroom, a hallway and a wardrobe. In front of the house there is a shelter for two cars with storage. This shelter is covered by a flat vegetation roof. <\/p>\n\n
